Dr Hargreaves is a Consultant Psychiatrist and medical psychotherapist. She has trained at Maudsley London & Royal Edinburgh Hospitals and is registered with the General Medical Council (3336542). She is AMP approved under Section 22 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Scotland Act 2003 as being experienced in the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorder. Dr Hargreaves work in an integrated model includes biological psychological and social aspects of mental disorder. She is a member of the RCPSYCH Scottish Executive and Scottish Network for Personality Disorder. 

Interests include mother-infant psychotherapy, relational/attachment, depression and anxiety states and bipolar disorder.

Training and Work experience
Dr Hargreaves has worked within NHS Aurshire & Arran for the past 6 years where she also completed 4 years as Vice-Chair of the RCPSych Psycotherapy Executive, Scotland. She has also worked as a Locum Consultant  with the Borders Rehabilitation Service.Prior to this, Dr Hargreaves worked as a general adult psychiatrist with the NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

Dr Hargreaves has extensive knowledge in Forensic Psychiatry, with a key focus on providing care and treatment to women in the female service in capacity of RMO.

Dr Hargreaves has also supervised the departmental ST trains and general trainees for their mandatory training is psychological therapies. This involves supervision of their individual cases. As part of the continuous assessment of trainees, Dr Hargreaves has also assessed ST 1-3 trains of the psychotherapy ACE Assessment and Mini-Ace Assessments.
