I am a Clinical Psychologist and registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council.
I have over 9 years of experience working in both NHS and private health care settings. I have enjoyed gaining experience across a range of different settings (e.g. primary care, CAMHS, older adults, intellectual disabilities, in-patient and forensic services). I am experienced in working with individuals who present with an array of mental health difficulties such as anxiety, OCD, emotion dysregulation, depression, grief/loss, trauma (PTSD and complex), personality disorder and psychosis.
Alongside working at The Edinburgh Practice, I am also employed by the NHS and work across 3 forensic services. I deliver a highly specialised psychological service to individuals (children to older adults) who present with complex mental health difficulties, cognitive and/or neurodevelopmental difficulties. As well as working directly with my patients, I support the teams around the individual through supervision, staff training, consultation and reflective practice groups.
I have an integrated therapeutic approach and will adapt and tailor my approach to suit your needs and difficulties. The main evidence-based therapeutic modalities I draw from include but are not limited to: CBT, trauma approaches, Schema informed Therapy and Cognitive Analytic informed Therapy. I will work collaboratively with you, support you to set achievable goals, help you to understand and make sense of your experiences and will develop a treatment plan that best suits your needs and difficulties. I will also support you in identifying unhelpful coping styles and/or relational patterns that will allow you to make healthier changes and achieve improved functioning. I offer a personalised, compassionate, non-judgemental and transparent approach. I believe that the most important component of therapy is the therapeutic relationship and being able to adapt to your needs and provide you with a safe space to discuss your difficulties. My overarching aim is to support you to reduce your psychological distress and increase your mental well-being.
