Clinical Practice

I am a Sport and Exercise Psychologist with over 4 years of experience as a practitioner, and 8 years of experience working in high performance environments. I am currently offering online and in person therapeutic support at the The Edinburgh Practice. I was previously the Head Sport Psychologist at Birmingham City Football Academy, where I led the delivery of a psychology curriculum across the programme and provided individualised well-being and performance support.

My experience has included working with individual athletes, coaches, and teams to enhance performance and wellbeing. I specialise in helping athletes develop psychological skills and strategies to cope with general mental health and well-being concerns as well as individual stressors such as competition anxiety, injury, lack of motivation. I am also experienced in the application of mental imagery, self-talk, relaxation, and goal setting to enhance performance.

Therapeutic Approach

Throughout my career, I have witnessed first-hand the pivotal role that psychological factors play in an athlete’s success. As such, I am a passionate advocate for mental health and wellbeing within high performance environments, and always place the person before the ‘performer’. I provide a safe, non-judgemental and collaborative space to work towards the clients goals for therapy.

My practice is driven by my academic knowledge, practical skills and personal dedication to athlete support, whereby I implement a variety of therapeutic approaches and evidence based practices. My experience in cognitive behavioural therapies, person centred therapy and psychological skills training allows me to tailor interventions to meet individual needs. Furthermore, my approach to practice is rooted in building strong rapport and trust with clients, as I believe that positive working relationships and effective communication are essential for fostering growth.
