Clinical Practice

For the past 10 years, I have been providing clinical care within the NHS, offering psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions in primary, secondary, and tertiary care services. I have experience in working with clients of all ages, presenting with various mental health issues and different levels of complexity. My work in the NHS, has allowed me to specialize in working with adult clients presenting with complex trauma/PTSD, personality disorders, and with clients with co-morbid complex trauma/PTSD and addictions. Alongside my work in private practice, I work as a Highly Specialised Clinical Psychologist within the NHS Addictions Psychological Therapies Service.

Therapeutically, I am experienced in working with all common psychological and emotional difficulties, including but not limited to: anxiety (with or without panic), OCD, depression, emotion dysregulation, low self-esteem, anger, adjustment to life changes/health difficulties, PTSD, complex trauma presentations, interpersonal relationship difficulties and complex/traumatic grief.

My Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach is built on the foundation of nurturing a safe, non-judgemental, compassionate, and trusting relationship with my clients and it is embedded in trauma informed principles. Working jointly with clients, I use an integrative approach to tailor the therapy to meet their individual needs. This approach often draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, I am currently training to deliver Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and will be able to offer this from April 2023. I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for my clients to explore their inner world and discover new ways of being in the world. Through personalized care and evidence-based approaches, I strive to assist my clients in developing insight and self-compassion to create meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.
