Why Choose Us?

Why Choose Us?

Fast access to care

We recognise and value the importance of early intervention for all clients, whatever support they are seeking. Due to the pressure on NHS services at present long waiting times can prohibit people from accessing the care and treatment that they need. At The Edinburgh Practice we work hard to keep waiting times as a minimum and for many services clients can access the care they need very soon after making contact with us. We prioritise fast access to care as we know that delays can contribute to deterioration and result in an increased need for services longer term.

Extensive range of services

We are proud of our ability to provide a wide range of services across the lifespan enabling clients to access all the help they need under one roof. Due to our multi-disciplinary approach our clients can be confident that they and their loved ones needs can be met in one place.

Leader in the field

Our reputation as the leading mental health practice in Scotland provides our clients with confidence that the assessments and care that they receive is respected and accepted by the wider healthcare community. Over the years we have formed strong and effective working relationships with both private and NHS GPs nationwide. The partnerships that we hold enable clients to feel reassured that we can facilitate shared care agreements across the UK.

Assurance of high quality training, professional accreditation & evidence-based practice

We know how difficult it is to know where to seek help for mental health problems, and to understand the credentials of all the professionals offering assessment and therapy services online. At The Edinburgh Practice we pride ourselves on the fact that all of our clinicians are trained to the highest level and fully accredited by their professional bodies.  Our clinicians work in line with best practice guidelines at all times, ensuring that your treatment plan is carefully tailored to meet your needs and follows a strong evidence base for your presenting problem.

We are regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland and as a result have undergone their rigorous inspection process to ensure that all of our services are in line with best practice and of the highest clinical standards, ensuring safety and quality assurance.

The therapeutic environment

The Edinburgh Practice has the client at its heart and we have worked very hard to create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for our clients and their families. We know how important it is for our clients to feel at ease and we have thought carefully about each potential client from a young child to an older adult and how we achieve this. This is evident in abundance at our purpose built 6500 square foot practice where each space within has been carefully tailored to the client’s needs. Our dream of creating a unique and bespoke practice like no other became a reality when we opened our new space in June 2023.

Convenience & flexibility

We are open 7 days a week including weekends and evenings. We aim to match you with a clinician who not only is well suited to your clinical needs but also suited to your preferred times for appointments.

Central location

We are situated in the heart of Edinburgh, easily accessible from train, bus and tram stations. Our convenient and central location removes travel stress for clients who travel from all across the UK to access our services.

Continuous improvement & innovation

We are dedicated to continually developing and enhancing the wide range of services that we offer. We encourage feedback from clients and our team and regularly review and integrate this feedback allowing for organic growth and improvement. We strive to be at the forefront of innovative service provision to ensure you receive the best care possible.

Remote services

The practice is designed to enable in person and remote services, with clients being able to choose which form of support works best around their life commitments. We recognise how busy our clients lives can be and are proud to be able to offer a model which is flexible where clients can benefit from continuity of care, for example when travelling or relocating.  We offer fully remote services as well as hybrid and in person only appointments.
