FAQs

Our self-referral form has been designed by our Lead Clinicians to capture all relevant information from you to ensure a full and thorough assessment.  We have a clear triage process in place at The Edinburgh Practice. Both self-referrals and GP referrals are accepted. All referrals are reviewed by our Clinical Lead. Once reviewed, the Clinical Lead will match you with the clinician best suited to you/your loved one’s clinical needs and your availability for regular therapeutic input. When determining the appropriate clinician, our decision is based solely on the information you provide to us on your referral form. We may contact you for more information or clarification on the information that you have provided to ensure that we can support your needs. If you are aware of any information that might be relevant to your treatment or therapy needs, then you are responsible for making us aware of this.

Once you submit an online referral form you will receive a ‘Thank You’ message, this means it has been sent to us for review.  They system does not automatically send you an email to confirm receipt of the submission.  Our administration team will email you to confirm receipt of the referral usually within 24 hours.

At the practice we offer assessments for ADHD and Autism for adults and children and young people.  If you are unsure on which assessment may be appropriate for you or your child then we would recommend a Neurodevelopmental Screening Consultation.  All of our assessments are in line with best practice guidelines from NICE and conducted by our highly experienced clinicians.  You can find out more by reading our assessment webpages and watching our clinician videos which you will find on the pages, just click on the relevant links below:
