Current Professional Positions
Dr Elaine Lockhart studied medicine at University College Dublin and has worked in Ireland, France and the UK. Her psychiatry training was undertaken in the West of Scotland and she worked as Consultant in Paediatric Liaison psychiatry at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for over 20 years and then as Consultant for Learning Disability CAMHS for a further 3 years.
She has been Vice-Chair and Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Scotland’s Child and Adolescent Faculty and then Chair of the UK RCPsych Child and Adolescent Faculty. She worked as Clinical Advisor for CAMHS with the Scottish Government from 2018 – 2021. She has been active in teaching, training and research and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow.
