Clinical Practice

Rosie trained in obstetrics and gynaecology in the West of Scotland and was a consultant in gynaecology and sexual health initially in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee then at the Chalmers Centre for sexual and reproductive health in Edinburgh, before retiring in 2021; since then she has worked as a locum consultant in NHS Borders and NHS Lanarkshire. Rosie worked in private practice in gynaecology in Edinburgh until 2023 when she retired from private practice until the opportunity to work at the Edinburgh Practice arose.

Rosie worked in all areas of community gynaecology and sexual health, but much of her workload was centred around management of the menopause; so many manifestations of the menopause are intricately connected to psychological health that the opportunity to work within a team specialising in psychological problems was very appealing, hence her return to private practice. Menopause, although not considered “cutting edge” medicine, is often poorly managed and understood, although thankfully in recent years it has entered the mainstream and much more time and resource Is now focused on improving the lives of the millions of menopausal women around the world. Private practice gives the luxury of time and space for the variety of issues around menopause to be carefully discussed.
