Julie is an educational psychologist and trauma therapist, registered with the HCPC. She has over 15 years experience working in both the public and private sector over that period of time. Over the years Julie has held specialist posts within the NHS and voluntary sector, having worked in the Autism Intervention Service and Paediatric Transgender Service. Since 2017 Julie has been a member of two multi-disciplinary Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment teams within the private sector and has developed a high level of expertise in relation to associated challenges, such as sensory processing challenges and demand avoidant profiles. Within the voluntary sector Julie worked within a sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse service providing therapeutic support to adults. Julie is committed to engaging in continued professional development and completed a post diploma in psychological trauma from the University of Chester. She has completed extensive accredited training in a range of approaches including, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. As such Julie is an integrative therapist and draws from a range of different psychotherapeutic approaches to ensure clients receive an individualised support based on best evidence guidelines and evidence-based therapies. Julie was well placed to lead a therapy team whilst working in the public sector, given her clinical experience. Whilst working in the public sector Julie also held specialist remits in relation to Autism Spectrum Disorder and Care Experienced C/YP and Learning Disability, in addition to offering the full range of services across early years, primary, secondary and further education provisions. Julie was a member of the Fostering and Adoption panel for over four years, offering advice and consultation. For five years Julie was an associate lecturer/supervisor on the post graduate training course at the University of Strathclyde. At present, Julie is studying paediatric clinical neuropsychology at University College London, working towards graduating in 2024 and ultimately registrating as a Paediatric Neuropsychologist.

  • 2005-2007 MSc in Educational Psychology from the University of Strathclyde
