My Clinical Practice

I completed my training to become a Clinical Psychologist in Western Australia and gained experience working across acute and community mental health services, disability services and private practice, in rural Australia. I have worked with diverse populations, across the lifespan and supported people with a range of difficulties including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), borderline personality disorder (BPD), relationship difficulties and complex grief and loss. I also have extensive experience supporting people to manage challenges linked to neurodiversity. I particularly enjoy working with autistic young people and adults to help them further understand their unique experience, recognise their strengths and develop new skills to cope with additional difficulties they may face.

I have recently returned to live in Scotland, and I am delighted to now be working at The Edinburgh Practice, where I can continue to provide high quality psychological care and help individuals reach their full potential.

My Therapeutic Approach

I provide person-centred support for older adolescents, adults and older adults. Bringing compassion and empathy, I work collaboratively with my clients to develop a shared understanding of the difficulties they are experiencing, highlight key challenges and address what lies beneath the current issues. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space, providing neuro and gender affirming psychological support. I also ensure that any challenges with attachment and trauma experiences are considered with care and addressed sensitively, in line with evidence-based practice.

I draw on a range of evidence-based psychological therapies, tailoring my input to meet the needs of each person, with respect for their unique life experience. Therapeutic models utilised include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills and Mindfulness-based practices. My approach is holistic and flexible, as I work to facilitate significant, positive and meaningful, long-lasting outcomes.
