My Clinical Practice
I have been working in different psychological services in the National Health Service (NHS) for eleven years and I have six years of working experience as a qualified Clinical Psychologist. I have worked with individuals of all ages in various settings and for the last six years I have been working with adults experiencing moderate to severe and complex mental health difficulties. In 2026 I started working at an NHS specialist trauma service. In my clinical practice I have worked with people who experience difficulties such as PTSD and complex PTSD, low self-esteem/confidence and perfectionism, complex grief, obsessive compulsive disorder, emotional and relationship difficulties as well as anxiety and mood related difficulties. My clinical work in the NHS also involves providing consultation, clinical supervision, and training for staff.
My Therapeutic Approach
I am trained in a range of evidence-based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Therapy for PTSD and Complex PTSD and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also draw on therapy models such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as attachment theory.
I consider the therapeutic relationship, underpinned by values of trust, positive regard and collaboration, as one of the foundations of therapeutic work. I understand that it may not be easy to take the first step and start therapy, therefore, I strive to create a space where each person can feel safe and contained. With every person that I work with I initially focus on developing a shared understanding of their difficulties through the process called psychological formulation, which then can help create an individualised and flexible plan for therapy. I believe that therapy is a space where people can develop further their coping skills to manage their difficulties better, strengthen their sense of resilience and agency in coping. I enjoy seeing how uniquely the therapeutic process can help people explore and make meaningful and valuable changes to their lives.
