My Therapeutic Approach
I have worked in NHS psychological services since 2005 and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2011. Throughout this time, I’ve supported people through many different emotional and life challenges. My aim is to offer a space where you feel listened to, understood, and supported. I believe that a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change.
My main therapeutic approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I also draw on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion‑Focused Therapy (CFT), and elements of Schema Therapy. I use these approaches flexibly and tailor them to each person, as I don’t believe therapy should be a one‑size‑fits‑all process.
I work with difficulties such as stress, anxiety, low mood, life transitions, and times when people feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure of their direction. While I can offer practical strategies to help manage distress, I also take a broader view of what might be contributing to how you’re feeling. Often, distress reflects an unmet need or a sense of being out of step with what matters most. My hope is to support you not only in coping, but in moving towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I have specialist experience in Neuropsychology. As part of the memory clinic service at The Edinburgh Practice, I offer neuropsychological assessments to help understand concerns about memory or cognitive functioning.
