My Clinical Practice
Dr Tom Stroud is a Consultant Psychiatrist with specialist training in Adult Psychiatry. He completed his medical degree and psychiatric training in Edinburgh and has worked across a wide range of mental health settings within the NHS across most of South East Scotland since 2016.
Tom has specialist training in liaison psychiatry, supporting people who experience mental health difficulties alongside physical illness or during hospital care. He also has specialist experience in the assessment and treatment of Adult ADHD, providing thorough diagnostic assessments and evidence-based treatment options tailored to each individual’s needs. He values psychological approaches to treatment alongside the standard medical options and tries to incorporate both equally into clinical practice.
Tom takes a collaborative and compassionate approach to his work, helping people to better understand their mental health and make positive, sustainable changes in their lives. He values clear communication and continuity of care, and is committed to creating a safe, supportive space for every person he works with.
